Detour Filmproduction (operating as Detour Inc.) is the Austin, Texas-based production company of acclaimed writer/director/producer Richard Linklater, named as a homage to the 1945 film noir of the same name. The company serves as the creative home base for all of Linklater's film projects, from early works like Slacker (1991) and Dazed and Confused (1993) through celebrated titles such as Boyhood (2014), Hit Man (2024), Blue Moon (2025), and Nouvelle Vague (2025), plus the in-progress multi-decade musical adaptation Merrily We Roll Along. A small, privately held operation located at Austin Studios, Detour also offers semester-long internships for aspiring filmmakers in Austin, TX.
