About

Counterbalance Entertainment is a Culver City-based television and film production company founded in 2019 by writer-producer-directors Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg, and Josh Heald — the creative team behind the global Netflix hit Cobra Kai. The company formed when Hurwitz & Schlossberg Productions merged with Heald Productions and simultaneously signed an overall deal with Sony Pictures Television. Counterbalance is best known for producing Cobra Kai (2018–2025), and has also produced the Netflix action-comedy series Obliterated, the Hulu film Plan B, and the 2026 film 72 Hours.
