Sean Tretta (born October 10, 1976) is an American film and television writer, producer, and director best known for his work on Syfy's 12 Monkeys (2015–2018), FX's Mayans M.C. (2018–2021), and as co-executive producer/writer on Paramount+'s Star Trek: Picard Season 3 (2023). He began his career writing, directing, and producing low-budget indie horror features while a student at Arizona State University, before transitioning into prestige television. Most recently, he was tapped to write the screenplay for Atomic Monster and Universal's reboot of Creature From the Black Lagoon, based on a treatment by James Wan, and also wrote The Revenge of La Llorona for producers Gary Dauberman and James Wan.
