Sara Murphy is an Academy Award-winning American film and music video producer based in Los Angeles, known for her long-standing collaborations with Paul Thomas Anderson, Barry Jenkins, and Eliza Hittman. She grew up in Crested Butte, Colorado, initially studied engineering, then launched her career as Philip Seymour Hoffman's assistant for approximately ten years before transitioning into producing indie features. In 2022, she co-founded Fat City with Ryan Zacarias, which operates under a first-look deal with Anonymous Content's AC Studios. Her credits include One Battle After Another (Academy Award for Best Picture, 2026), Licorice Pizza, If Beale Street Could Talk, Never Rarely Sometimes Always, If I Had Legs I'd Kick You, and The History of Sound.
