Sara Murphy is an Academy Award-winning American film and music video producer based in Los Angeles, known for her long-standing collaborations with Paul Thomas Anderson and Barry Jenkins. She grew up in Crested Butte, Colorado, began her career as Philip Seymour Hoffman's assistant, and transitioned into producing through indie features before becoming one of Hollywood's most celebrated producers. Her credits include Licorice Pizza, If Beale Street Could Talk, Never Rarely Sometimes Always, and One Battle After Another, for which she won the Academy Award for Best Picture, the BAFTA Award for Best Film, the PGA Darryl F. Zanuck Award, and the Gotham Award for Best Feature at the 98th Academy Awards in March 2026. In 2022, she co-founded the production company Fat City with Ryan Zacarias, which holds a first-look deal with Anonymous Content's AC Studios.
