Robert Gerard Tapert (born May 14, 1955, Royal Oak, Michigan) is a veteran American film and television producer, writer, and director who co-founded Renaissance Pictures with Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell, and later co-founded Ghost House Pictures with Sam Raimi in 2002. He is best known for co-creating Xena: Warrior Princess, producing the entire Evil Dead franchise, and spearheading horror hits including The Grudge, Don't Breathe, and Evil Dead Rise. Ghost House Pictures has produced seven #1 box office hits, primarily distributed by Sony Pictures Entertainment. Tapert remains actively producing through Ghost House Pictures, with Evil Dead Burn (released July 2026) and Evil Dead Wrath (2028) in the pipeline.
