About
Ricky Staub is a Philadelphia-based filmmaker and the founder of Neighborhood Film Company, a production company he launched in 2011 with a dual mission: creating commercials and narrative content for global brands while offering paid apprenticeships and career development to adults returning home from incarceration. He broke into features with Concrete Cowboy (2020), starring Idris Elba and Caleb McLaughlin, which premiered at TIFF 2020, was acquired by Netflix, and earned widespread critical acclaim. His success on Concrete Cowboy led director Chad Stahelski to tap Staub and collaborator Dan Walser to co-write John Wick: Chapter 4 (2023). Prior to founding Neighborhood Film Company, Staub served as an assistant to producer Sam Mercer on several M. Night Shyamalan productions, including The Last Airbender.
