Peter Block is a Los Angeles-based film producer born in Hartford, Connecticut, and the founder and President of A Bigger Boat, a genre-focused production and consulting company he launched in 2008. Before founding A Bigger Boat, he served as President of Acquisitions & Co-Productions at Lionsgate for approximately eight years, overseeing the acquisition and production of more than 1,000 films including the entire Saw franchise, Fahrenheit 9/11, and Crash. At A Bigger Boat — which he runs alongside producing partner Cory Neal and story editor Benjamin Webster — Block has produced and executive produced genre films including Frozen (2010), Jigsaw (2017), Spiral (2021), The Persian Version (2023), and The Long Game (2024). He is widely regarded as one of the leading independent genre film producers working today.
