Pedring A. Lopez is an award-winning Filipino filmmaker and founder of BlackOps Studios Asia, known for his visceral, grounded approach to action and genre cinema. He rose to international prominence with the Netflix original action film Maria (2019) starring Cristine Reyes, and previously gained regional recognition with the action-horror hybrid Nilalang (2015). A self-taught filmmaker who began his career as a news editor and VFX supervisor at Philippine TV networks, Lopez has built a reputation for practical effects, handheld cinematography, and filmmaker-driven genre projects. He is currently expanding internationally with a multi-film slate including Lotus (starring Cuba Gooding Jr.), The Ascendants (UK-set psychological horror), Blood Passage, and Ji.
