Oren Moverman (born July 4, 1966, in Jaffa, Israel) is an Israeli-American Academy Award-nominated screenwriter, film director, and Emmy Award-winning producer based in New York City. He made his directorial debut with The Messenger (2009), earning an Oscar nomination for Best Original Screenplay and the Silver Bear for Best Screenplay at the Berlin International Film Festival, and went on to direct Rampart (2011), Time Out of Mind (2014), The Dinner (2017), and co-direct the Paramount+ documentary series Willie Nelson & Family (2023) and Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band (2024). As co-founder and partner at Sight Unseen Pictures, he has produced Emmy-winning and Sundance prize-winning independent films including Bad Education, Monsters and Men, Wildlife, and The Tale. His most recent work includes the Edinburgh-screened Borges and Me (2026, screenwriter), the wrapped Ages of the Moon (2026, screenwriter/executive producer), Harmonia (in post, producer), and the in-development Raised Eyebrows (director/writer/producer).
