Oprah Winfrey is one of the most influential media figures in history, best known as the host and supervising producer of The Oprah Winfrey Show, which ran in national syndication for 25 years (1986–2011) and remains the highest-rated talk show in television history. As founder and chairman of Harpo Productions and Harpo Entertainment Group, she has built a multimedia empire spanning television, film, publishing, and digital media, including OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network. An Academy Award-nominated actress for her debut role in The Color Purple (1985), she has also produced acclaimed films including Selma (2014) and the 2023 musical The Color Purple. Dubbed the 'Queen of All Media,' she was the first African American woman billionaire and the first woman in history to own and produce her own talk show.
