Matt Shakman (born August 8, 1975) is an American film, television, and theatre director and former child actor, best known for directing and executive producing Marvel Studios' WandaVision (2021) for Disney+ and The Fantastic Four: First Steps (2025) for Marvel/Disney. A prolific television director with credits spanning Game of Thrones, Succession, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Fargo, The Great, The Boys, and Mad Men, Shakman also served as Artistic Director of the Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles from 2017 to 2023. He is currently set to direct and produce a new Planet of the Apes film at 20th Century Studios.
