Jonathan Benjamin Hurwitz (born November 15, 1977) is an American screenwriter, director, and producer best known for co-creating the hit Netflix series Cobra Kai alongside Hayden Schlossberg and Josh Heald, as well as writing the Harold & Kumar franchise and co-writing/directing American Reunion (2012). He is a co-founder and partner at Counterbalance Entertainment, which holds an overall deal with Sony Pictures Television. As of 2025, Cobra Kai concluded its six-season run and Hurwitz is now producing the Netflix comedy 72 Hours (July 2026) and developing a new Harold & Kumar feature at Lionsgate's Mandate Pictures.
