Jon Erwin (born May 19, 1982, Birmingham, Alabama) is an acclaimed American film director, screenwriter, producer, and entrepreneur specializing in faith-based and inspirational cinema. Together with his brother Andrew as 'The Erwin Brothers,' he directed breakout hits including I Can Only Imagine (2018, $86M worldwide), Jesus Revolution (2023, $52M worldwide), and American Underdog (2021), co-founding Kingdom Story Company with Lionsgate in 2019. In 2023 he launched his own independent studio Wonder Project — backed by over $100 million in seed funding — serving as Founder and Chief Creative Officer, with its first major production House of David attracting 44 million viewers worldwide on Amazon Prime Video; he is also the only director to have received an A+ CinemaScore five times.
