John Burke Krasinski (born October 20, 1979, Newton, MA) is an American actor, filmmaker, screenwriter, and producer who rose to global fame as Jim Halpert on NBC's The Office (2005–2013). He broke through as a major directorial force with A Quiet Place (2018), which he wrote, directed, and starred in — earning WGA, PGA, and SAG ensemble nominations, plus AFI Top 10 recognition. Through his production banner Sunday Night Productions (co-founded with Allyson Seeger in 2013), which holds an extended first-look deal with Paramount Pictures, he is currently in production on A Quiet Place Part III (Paramount, July 30, 2027) and recently starred in and co-wrote Jack Ryan: Ghost War (Amazon Prime Video, May 2026). Named People magazine's Sexiest Man Alive in 2024 and one of Time's 100 Most Influential People in 2018.
