John Burke Krasinski (born October 20, 1979, Newton, MA) is an American actor, filmmaker, screenwriter, and producer who rose to global fame as Jim Halpert on NBC's The Office (2005–2013). He broke through as a major directorial force with A Quiet Place (2018), which he wrote, directed, and starred in — earning WGA, PGA, Academy Award (Sound Editing), and AFI Top 10 recognition. Through his production banner Sunday Night Productions (co-founded with Allyson Seeger in 2013), which holds a first-look deal with Paramount Pictures (extended April 2024), he is currently in active production on A Quiet Place Part III (Paramount, July 2027) and recently starred in and co-wrote Jack Ryan: Ghost War (Amazon Prime Video, May 2026).
