About

Daniel Francis Boyle (born 20 October 1956) is an Academy Award-winning English director and producer from Radcliffe, Greater Manchester, described by the British Film Institute as 'one of the liveliest and most unpredictable of British directors.' He broke through internationally with Trainspotting (1996) and won the Oscar, BAFTA, DGA, and Golden Globe for Best Director for Slumdog Millionaire (2008). Boyle also served as artistic director for the London 2012 Summer Olympics opening ceremony 'Isles of Wonder,' and most recently directed and produced 28 Years Later (2025) for Columbia Pictures/DNA Films, the first in a new planned trilogy. He is represented by Independent Talent Group in London.
