Daniel J. Chalfen is a Peabody and duPont-winning, multiple Emmy-nominated documentary film and television producer, and co-founder of Naked Edge Films, which he co-founded with Jim Butterworth in 2008. His films have premiered at Berlin, Sundance, SXSW, Toronto, and Tribeca, and have been released by Samuel Goldwyn Films, Participant Media, Kino Lorber, and Focus Features, streaming worldwide on Netflix, HBO, Amazon, Showtime, and PBS, among others. His most recent film, Who Killed Alex Odeh? (2026), won the Sundance U.S. Documentary Special Jury Award for Journalistic Excellence. Chalfen is a Documentary Branch member of AMPAS and a voting member of BAFTA.
