About
Carla Hool is a Mexican-born, Los Angeles-based casting director with over two decades of experience in U.S. and Latin American film and television. Born in Mexico City and raised in a fifth-generation entertainment family — her father is producer Conrad Hool and her grandmother was Mexican Golden Age actress and dancer Constanza Hool — she began her casting career on Man on Fire (2004) and has since become widely regarded as one of Hollywood's foremost internationally focused casting directors, with deep affiliations in Mexico, Central and South America, and Spain. She is best known for her casting on Narcos, Coco, Emilia Pérez, Flamin' Hot, A Million Miles Away, and Jurassic World: Rebirth, and is a two-time Artios Award winner with eight total nominations, a recipient of NALIP's 2019 Industry Pioneer Award, and the 2022 Heller Award for Feature Casting Director of the Year; she was also invited to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in 2020.
