Yoozoo Pictures

YooZoo Pictures is a Shanghai-headquartered Chinese film production, distribution, and IP management company co-founded in November 2014 by Lin Qi and Kong Xiangzhao as the entertainment arm of Youzu Interactive (YOOZOO Games). The company operates three core business areas: movie investment, promotion and distribution; IP management; and artist agency, pioneering a unique 'film-game linkage' model to develop major IP across film, TV, mobile games, animation, and related merchandise. YooZoo Pictures established a U.S. subsidiary (YooZoo Pictures U.S.) with offices in West Hollywood to facilitate Hollywood co-productions and is best known for holding the adaptation rights to the sci-fi trilogy 'The Three-Body Problem,' which it licensed to Netflix for a major series produced by David Benioff and D.B. Weiss. The company's founder Lin Qi died on December 25, 2020, after being poisoned by a company executive; subsequent leadership changes have been made by the parent group.
