wiip (an acronym for 'word,' 'idea,' 'imagination,' and 'production') is a global independent studio founded in 2018 by Paul Lee and Matteo Perale, distinctive in its talent-first approach to premium scripted content for streaming platforms and broadcasters. Led by CEO Paul Lee, former head of ABC Entertainment Group, the company has produced Emmy- and Peabody Award-winning series including 'Mare of Easttown' for HBO, 'Dickinson' for Apple TV+, 'The Summer I Turned Pretty' for Prime Video, 'Bodkin' for Netflix, and 'Pistol' for FX. In 2021, South Korean studio JTBC Studios (now SLL/Studio LuLuLaLa) acquired a majority stake, with CAA retaining a minority interest.
