UDA (Union Des Artistes)

The Union des artistes (UDA) is a Quebec-based professional trade union founded in 1937, representing over 13,000 performing artists — including actors, singers, hosts, and dancers — who work in French in Quebec and across Canada, as well as artists working in any language other than English in productions not primarily destined for English-speaking audiences. Its mission is to defend the social, economic, and moral interests of its members by negotiating minimum working conditions and compensation across sectors including film, television, radio, theatre, advertising, dubbing, recording, video games, and dance. The UDA is affiliated with the International Federation of Actors (FIA) and is recognized as a professional union under both Quebec and federal Canadian law.
