About

The Estate of Michael Jackson is a legal entity established following the death of American singer Michael Jackson on June 25, 2009, for the purpose of administering his property and overseeing his posthumous income. Managed for many years by co-executors entertainment attorney John Branca and music executive John McClain (who passed away May 26, 2026), the Estate has transformed Jackson's legacy into one of the most profitable celebrity enterprises in history, generating billions through music publishing, licensing, merchandise, Broadway productions, Cirque du Soleil shows, film, and global entertainment ventures. The Estate operates via the Michael Jackson Family Trust and holds assets including master recordings, the MIJAC Music catalog, and brand/image rights, with John Branca serving as sole executor following McClain's 2026 death. Its official label/recording entity operates as MJJP Records, LLC, powered by Sony Music Entertainment.
