About
The Howard Theatre is a historic 34,000-square-foot live music, performance, and special event venue located at 620 T Street NW in the Shaw neighborhood of Washington, D.C. Originally opened in 1910, it was the first and largest theater built for Black audiences in the United States and hosted legends including Ella Fitzgerald, Duke Ellington, and The Supremes. After a $29–$30 million renovation, the venue reopened in 2012 and is now operated by Union Stage Presents (a division of Bensusan Restaurant Corp), offering live concerts, comedy, private events, weddings, and corporate functions with Wolfgang Puck Catering services.
