The Duke on 42nd Street

The Duke on 42nd Street is a 199-seat intimate, flexible black box theater located on the second floor of New 42 Studios at 229 West 42nd Street in the heart of Times Square. Built and operated by New 42 (formerly The New 42nd Street), a not-for-profit organization, the theater opened in 2000 and was named in recognition of a $3.5 million grant from the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation. The venue is available for rental to both domestic and international nonprofit and commercial performing arts organizations, and has hosted presentations by the National Theatre of Great Britain, Lincoln Center Theater's LCT3, Theatre for a New Audience, Playwrights Horizons, Steppenwolf Theater Company, and many others.
