Square Peg

Square Peg is a Los Angeles-based independent film production company co-founded in 2019 by writer-director Ari Aster and producer Lars Knudsen following their collaboration on Hereditary. The company champions auteur-driven, boundary-pushing cinema, partnering with filmmakers such as Robert Eggers, Kristoffer Borgli, Guy Maddin, and Yorgos Lanthimos to produce films for distributors including A24 and Focus Features. Known for its commitment to distinctive, outsider storytelling in the mainstream, Square Peg signed a two-year first-look TV deal with Media Res in March 2026, marking its first foray into television production.
