Rebellion Developments Limited, founded in Oxford in 1992 by brothers Jason and Chris Kingsley, is one of Europe's largest independent multimedia studios. Originally a pure video game developer best known for the Sniper Elite and Alien vs. Predator franchises, the company has diversified into comics publishing (owning 2000 AD and Judge Dredd), book publishing (Solaris Books, Abaddon Books), and film/TV production through Rebellion Productions and its 220,000 sq ft Rebellion Film Studios in Didcot. The company remains fully privately owned by the Kingsley brothers with no external investors, employing approximately 475–542 staff across multiple UK studios.
