Provincetown Films

The Provincetown Film Society (PFS) is a Massachusetts-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts organization founded in 1998, dedicated to showcasing new achievements in independent film and honoring the work of emerging and acclaimed directors, producers, and actors. It operates through three primary pillars: the annual Provincetown International Film Festival (PIFF), held each June on Cape Cod; the Waters Edge Cinema, a year-round two-screen art house movie theater at Whaler's Wharf; and the Gabrielle A. Hanna Provincetown Film Institute, which provides artist residencies, workshops, and conferences including the Women Filmmaker's Residency Program and the Women's Media Summit. PFS is a vocal advocate for gender, racial, and LGBTQIA+ representation in film, and is recognized as the largest cultural event on the lower Cape Cod.
