Protozoa Pictures is an American production company founded in 1997 by filmmaker Darren Aronofsky, headquartered in New York City. The company has produced award-winning work spanning film, television, documentary, theater, virtual reality, podcasts, books, and graphic novels, accumulating over a dozen Academy Award nominations across titles including Requiem for a Dream, The Wrestler, Black Swan, Jackie, and The Whale. It also produced Postcard from Earth, the inaugural show for the Las Vegas Sphere, which has sold 4 million tickets and grossed over $500 million. Protozoa currently maintains ongoing development deals with Disney/NatGeo and Sony, while collaborating with major distributors including Searchlight Pictures, Paramount Pictures, and A24.
