New York Theater Festival

New York Theater Festival (NYTF) is a New York City-based playwright and musical theater festival and competition, operating primarily out of the Hudson Guild Theater in Chelsea, Manhattan (441 West 26th Street), with a secondary venue at Teatro LATEA on the Lower East Side. The festival runs two annual seasons — a Spring/Summer Festival and a Fall/Winter Festival — and accepts full-length plays, one-acts, shorts, solos, and musicals from NYC-area playwrights. Over 15 years and 25 seasons, NYTF has hosted more than 1,600 plays and 400 musicals, awarding over $200,000 in cash prizes, with up to $8,000 available per season and $3,500 for Best Play or Musical.
