About
National Asian Artists Project, Inc. (NAAP) is a New York-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit theatre organization dedicated to showcasing the work of artists of Asian descent, primarily in American musical theatre. Founded in 2004 by Baayork Lee, Steven Eng, and Nina Zoie Lam, NAAP operates four core programs: the Discover: New Musicals series (staged readings of new works by emerging AAPI artists), the Rediscover series (classic American musicals re-envisioned with all-Asian casts), the Broadway Community Chorus, and educational programming via the P.S. 124 Theatre Club in New York's Chinatown. The organization builds bridges between professional AAPI theatre artists and diverse communities, from underserved schoolchildren to seasoned arts patrons.
