Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America

Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA) is the nation's leading nonprofit, nonpartisan advocacy and support organization for post-9/11 veterans, representing over 425,000 members and supporters nationwide. Founded in 2004 by Iraq War veteran Paul Rieckhoff, IAVA's mission is to connect, unite, and empower the post-9/11 generation of veterans through education, advocacy, and community. The organization conducts non-partisan advocacy on Capitol Hill, data-driven research on veteran issues, leadership development through its Cavalry program, and direct member support services. It is widely recognized as one of the most influential voices on veterans' policy in Washington.
