Icelandic Film Centre

The Icelandic Film Centre (Kvikmyndamiðstöð Íslands) is a public institution established in 2001 under Film Act No. 137/2001, mandated to support the production, distribution, and international promotion of Icelandic films. It administers the Icelandic Film Fund, which provides grants across narrative features, short films, documentaries, and TV fiction, and also manages a production reimbursement scheme offering up to 25–35% rebates on eligible costs incurred in Iceland. The Centre plays a central role in presenting Icelandic cinema at international film festivals, nurturing film culture domestically, and promoting Iceland as a destination for international productions.
