Fleischer Studios

Fleischer Studios, Inc. is the surviving corporate entity of the legendary Golden Age American animation studio originally founded in 1921 by brothers Max and Dave Fleischer. Today, under the leadership of Max Fleischer's grandson Mark Fleischer as Chairman/CEO, the company holds ownership of the original characters created by the studio — including Betty Boop and Koko the Clown — and actively pursues new media, merchandise, licensing, and theatrical opportunities for those properties in partnership with Global Icons, Inc. The studio is historically celebrated as Walt Disney Productions' chief competitor in the 1930s and as the originator of animation innovations including the rotoscope, the bouncing ball singalong, and the stereo-optical/set-back process.
