About

Emerson Collective (EC) is the social impact organization, investment firm, and family office of Laurene Powell Jobs, founded in 2004 and headquartered in Palo Alto, California. Operating as a Limited Liability Company, it deploys a hybrid model spanning venture capital investing, philanthropy, advocacy, and media production across education, immigration, environment, and journalism. EC is best known in entertainment and media for its majority ownership of The Atlantic, its partnership with Davis Guggenheim's Concordia Studio (producing films including Boys State and Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie), and early investments in companies such as Gimlet Media and MACRO. Named after transcendentalist writer Ralph Waldo Emerson, the company deploys an estimated $15 billion across its portfolio.
