Elara Pictures

Elara Pictures is a New York-based independent film and television production company co-founded in 2014 by filmmakers Josh Safdie, Benny Safdie, Ronald Bronstein, Sebastian Bear-McClard, and Oscar Boyson. The company gained critical acclaim for its gritty, high-tension urban dramas including Heaven Knows What (2014), Good Time (2017), and Uncut Gems (2019), and later expanded into television with series such as Chillin Island, Telemarketers, Love Has Won: The Cult of Mother God (all HBO), and The Curse (Showtime/Paramount+). As of 2026, the company's operational status is in limbo following the 2022 departure of Bear-McClard and the 2024 split of the Safdie brothers, who have each formed their own separate production companies.
