El Sol Ermitaño is a boutique film and television production company founded in Medellín, Colombia by producer Federico Durán Amorocho, who brings over 26 years of industry experience previously accumulated at Rhayuela Films. The company focuses on a curated slate of Ibero-American stories with international co-production ambitions, working with partners across Colombia, Spain, France, Canada, Chile, and Germany. It made its international debut at the 74th San Sebastián International Film Festival in September 2026, where its first co-production, 'Lovers Go Home!', won the WIP Latam Industry Award. The company defines itself as an 'associative' company that works from the local toward the global, with a project pipeline extending through January 2028.
