About

Eat the Cat is a Los Angeles-based production company founded in 2019 by writer-showrunner Nick Antosca and producer Alex Hedlund. The company focuses on elevated genre material, high-end dramas, and thrillers for television and film. Its name is an allusion to the 'save the cat' screenwriting trope, reflecting its mandate to break from formula and tell challenging stories in unconventional ways. Eat the Cat holds an overall deal at Universal Studio Group's UCP and is known for producing acclaimed genre projects including Chucky (Syfy/USA), The Act (Hulu), A Friend of the Family (Peacock), Candy (Hulu), and the upcoming Apple TV+ series Cape Fear.
