EAST Films LLC is a transpacific media company with offices in Los Angeles, California and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, whose mission is to empower visionary Southeast Asian and Asian American storytellers to excel in the global entertainment market. The company serves as a bridge between the Asia-Pacific Rim and the world, developing localized genre films for the Vietnamese market, Pan-Asian streaming series, and arthouse/prestige fare for international audiences. EAST is best known for producing the ESPN 30 for 30 documentary 'Be Water' (Sundance 2020, directed by Bao Nguyen) and the award-winning Vietnamese feature 'Ròm' (Busan International Film Festival New Currents Grand Prize winner). The company also provides production services for international productions shooting in Vietnam, including fixer services, script censorship management, location scouting, permitting, and local crew and casting support.
