Cinemascópio

CinemaScópio is an independent film production company based in Recife, Pernambuco, Brazil, founded by filmmaker Kleber Mendonça Filho and producer Emilie Lesclaux. The company is best known internationally for producing Kleber Mendonça Filho's acclaimed features — Neighboring Sounds (O Som ao Redor, 2013), Aquarius (2016), and Bacurau (2019, Cannes Jury Prize) — which have screened at major international festivals and been distributed in over 100 countries. CinemaScópio also organizes the Janela Internacional de Cinema do Recife, one of Brazil's most important film festivals, and has co-produced numerous films by emerging Pernambuco-based filmmakers.
