Callisto Media was a leading data-driven nonfiction book publisher founded in 2011 in the San Francisco Bay Area, combining big data, technology, and lean economics to identify and serve consumer demand in publishing. Named the fastest-growing independent publisher in 2014 by Publishers Weekly, the company reached over 50 million customers with titles spanning cooking, health & wellness, workbooks, and personal growth. In May 2023, its publishing assets were acquired by Sourcebooks in a Penguin Random House-funded deal, with Callisto's titles continuing to be distributed by Simon & Schuster Distribution Services. The Callisto brand now operates as an imprint of Sourcebooks.
