Builders VisionFollow

Builders Vision is an impact investing and philanthropy platform founded in 2018 by Lukas Walton (Executive Chairman & Founder, grandson of Walmart founder Sam Walton), headquartered in Chicago with an additional office in San Francisco. With a nearly 100-person team managing over $15 billion across multiple asset classes, the platform focuses on three sectors: food & agriculture, energy, and oceans, deploying capital across the full spectrum from philanthropic grantmaking to market-rate investments. Its structure includes the Builders Initiative Foundation (philanthropy/endowment arm) and Builders Asset Management (investment arm), and has distributed nearly $700 million in philanthropic capital, including $144 million to Chicago-based organizations. Builders Vision is widely recognized as a leading force in impact investing and systems-level environmental philanthropy, with Lukas Walton named to the TIME 100 Climate Leaders list in 2025.
