Blackpills

Blackpills (operating as Blackpills Studio) is a French production and international distribution company founded in 2016 and formally launched in May 2017, specializing in premium short-form scripted series targeted at young adult audiences and designed for mobile viewing. Co-founded by Patrick Holzman (former co-founder of AlloCiné and executive VP of Canal+ International) and Daniel Marhely (founder of Deezer), with backing from Xavier Niel (founder of Iliad/Free), the company has produced more than 60 original series across drama, comedy, thriller, sci-fi, and animation genres. Originally a standalone SVOD streaming app available in over 30 countries, Blackpills transitioned in 2019 to a B2B studio model, distributing its premium content through telecom operators, streaming platforms such as Netflix, and international partners including Canal+ Group's THEMA.
