About

Anarchists United is a Los Angeles-based entertainment venture co-founded by filmmaker Lilly Wachowski, Sarah Marie Flores, and Lawrence Mattis, comprised of the Anarchists United Foundation (a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, EIN 93-2308090) and its wholly owned production subsidiary, Anarchists United Studios. The studios arm focuses on elevated smart genre films — sci-fi, thriller, action, and horror — with budgets under $10 million, created by artists from underrepresented communities, while also incubating long-form series, microbudget films, and documentaries. The Foundation arm runs filmmaker grants, a Writers Discovery Fellowship (in partnership with Circle Management + Production), a Directors Prep & Pitch Lab, and United Spaces of Anarchy (a community workspace hub), all oriented around its core mission of artistry, diversity, and equity in media. All net profits of the Studio flow back to the Foundation.
