About
Thor Freudenthal is a German-born film and television director raised in Berlin who trained at the Hochschule der Künste Berlin and CalArts. He began his career as an animation director and VFX artist at Sony Pictures Imageworks before transitioning to live-action with his Sundance short Motel (2005), followed by feature films including Hotel for Dogs (2009), Diary of a Wimpy Kid (2010), and Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters (2013). He has since become a prolific television director and executive producer, with credits spanning Carnival Row, The Expanse, The Bondsman, and most recently NBC's The Hunting Party (2025–2026), for which he directed the pilot and serves as executive producer.
