Susan Shopmaker is one of independent film's most respected casting directors, with over 30 years of feature film and commercial credits. She is best known for her work on acclaimed films including The Holdovers (for which she won the 2024 BAFTA Award for Best Casting), Martha Marcy May Marlene, Sound of Metal, The Iron Claw, Beach Rats, and First Reformed. In addition to her casting work, she serves as a Lecturer in Acting at the State University of New York at Purchase and operates her own company, Susan Shopmaker Casting, out of midtown Manhattan.
