Steven O'Dell is a veteran international film distribution and marketing executive who has spent over two decades at Sony Pictures Entertainment, rising from Vice President to President of International Marketing and Distribution for the Motion Picture Group. He began his career in 1994 with United International Pictures (UIP), holding management posts across Central America, the Caribbean, Chile, Austria, Brazil, and Mexico before joining the consultancy Nadia Bronson & Associates in 2001. He joined Sony Pictures in 2005 and was successively promoted to SVP in 2009 and then President in 2011, overseeing the studio's international theatrical releases across all global territories. As of mid-2025 through August 2026, he continued to report directly to Tom Rothman, CEO and Chairman of Sony Pictures' Motion Picture Group, and played a key role in the record-breaking international release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
