Stephen Wallis (born February 27, 1966) is a Canadian writer-director-producer based in Whitchurch-Stouffville, Ontario, widely recognized as one of Canada's most prolific independent filmmakers. He directed Burt Reynolds' final feature film, Defining Moments (2021), and his subsequent film The Martini Shot (2023), starring Matthew Modine, John Cleese, and Derek Jacobi, became the festival circuit's most-decorated film of 2024 with over 60 total award wins including 17 Best Picture and 11 Best Director awards worldwide. He currently serves as CEO of Indie Planet Streaming Service and runs his production banner Magic Door Films, with an extensive slate of features in pre-production including Cut the Painter (co-written with John Cleese) and The Writer's Block.
