About
Sadé Clacken Joseph is a Caribbean-American writer-director and founder of Out of Many Media, known for her lyrical approach to underrepresented stories and her gift for capturing tender, humorous moments. A first-generation American of Jamaican and Antiguan heritage from the Bronx, she earned her MFA in Film Production from USC's School of Cinematic Arts and rose to prominence directing the pilot and second episode of Issa Rae's HBO Max comedy Rap Sh!t, landing her a deal with CAA. Her credits span narrative TV (Good Trouble, Diarra from Detroit), feature documentary (Trap Jazz on Hulu), branded content (Spotify, Madewell, Target, Amex), and award-winning short films including Ponyboi, which premiered at the 2019 Tribeca Film Festival as the first narrative film centered on an intersex character.
