About

Michael Barnathan (born March 1958) is an Academy Award-nominated American film producer and co-founder/President of 26th Street Pictures (formerly 1492 Pictures), which he launched in 1994 alongside director Chris Columbus and producer Mark Radcliffe. He is best known for executive producing the first three Harry Potter films, producing The Help (2011) — which earned him Academy Award and BAFTA nominations for Best Picture — and producing the Night at the Museum franchise. A graduate of NYU's Tisch School of the Arts (BFA, 1980), he is currently producing Gremlins 3 (Warner Bros., November 2027) alongside Amblin Entertainment and developing the Disney+ series House of Secrets.
