Matthew George Reeves (born April 27, 1966, Rockville Centre, NY) is an American writer-director-producer and founder of 6th & Idaho Motion Picture Company, best known for The Batman (2022), which grossed over $772 million worldwide and received three Academy Award nominations. He co-created the WB series Felicity (1998–2002) with J.J. Abrams and directed Cloverfield (2008), Let Me In (2010), and the Planet of the Apes sequels (2014, 2017). He holds overall deals at Warner Bros. Pictures and Warner Bros. Television, executive produced the Emmy-nominated HBO series The Penguin (2024), and completed the script for The Batman: Part II (with co-writer Mattson Tomlin) in June 2025, with the sequel scheduled for release in 2027–2028.
