Mary Jane Skalski is a New York City-based independent film producer and President of Production at Echo Lake Entertainment, where she actively produces and manages a select roster of clients. Over a 25+ year career specializing in taking projects from inception through release, she is best known for producing The Station Agent (2003)—for which she won the Independent Spirit John Cassavetes Award—four films with director Tom McCarthy, Gregg Araki's Mysterious Skin, and Bart Layton's American Animals. She began her career at Good Machine (1993–1999), working on early films by Ang Lee, Nicole Holofcener, and Ed Burns, and later founded her own production banner, Next Wednesday Films. She is a member of AMPAS (Producers Branch Executive Committee), PGA, and Producers United, and teaches in the Graduate Producing Program at Columbia University.
